Who is JUSA-NJ?

It is estimated that there are approximately 20,000 Japanese people living in New Jersey, and 80,000 all together in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut Metropolitan area. New Jersey has been the home for families, companies and students from Japan.

Despite the rich history and relationship between Japan and New Jersey, there has not been a large-scale community organization by which the people of the community come together to enrich their lives, and through which Japanese and local communities understand and embrace their different cultures.

To respond to the ever increasing demands from the community, the Japan-US Alliance of New Jersey was established in September 2009 by several Japanese long-time residents of New Jersey, with the strong vision of creating a united Japanese community in New Jersey.

The organization’s mission is strongly founded on serving the needs of the residents of New Jersey. We welcome everyone from any community who is interested in Japanese culture, in making friends in different cultures, and in participating at our fun events.
